Giraffa L
The latest addition to the side-mounted mulcher family, GIRAFFA L’s distinguishing feature is its operating power range, up to 80 hp. Simple to use, it is a versatile tool for dealing with grass or brush. Suitable for any use, equally happy working in olive groves, hazel groves and orchards as it is mowing along headlands, ditches or hedgerows, it is available in working widths ranging from 1.6 to 1.8 m, paired with tractors with horsepower in the 40 to 80 range.

GIRAFFA L’s parallelogram frame arm gives it a wide range of movement, both horizontally – to offer the greatest number of possible operating combinations, such as work in conjunction with front-mounted equipment – and vertically thanks to inclines ranging from -65° e +90°. The version with the externally mounted gearbox gives it greater offset.
The gearbox shaft features a freewheel, while the PTO, which comes as standard, is direct drive.
Effortless mulching
Hammer flails are tasked with shredding, effortlessly handling brush up to 6 cm in diameter. The electronically balanced rotor ensures consistently high speeds with very little vibration.
GIRAFFA L can be fitted with a double skin protection, which is recommended when dealing with hard debris or stones.
Self-cleaning roller
The adjustable rear roller is designed to compact the resulting shredded residue as much as possible in order to speed up the decomposition process, and is self-cleaning thanks to its location near the rotor.
Shock protection system
The head’s floating system allows it to follow the contours of the surfaces being worked on, preventing any damage to the structure. The connecting rod on one of the lower hitch points is an additional safety measure in the event of collision with obstacles.
GIRAFFA L comes in two versions: with the gearbox mounted internally or externally. The internal version is recommended if the unit is going to be used mainly on the flat or for vertical work (hedgerows, banks). The external version gives greater reach for ditch work.

Electronically Balanced Rotor
The rotors on MASCHIO GASPARDO mulchers are balanced electronically in order to provide the hammer flails with a high speed of rotation whatever the work condition, low vibrations and reduced power requirements. This means the machine has a longer service life.
Drive belt tensioning
Drive belts can be tensioned simply and easily by means of a practical external screw system. All implements are fitted with toothed belts that, unlike plain belts, prove more effective and offer greater performance.
Toothed lower counter blade
For a finer mulch, the machine comes with a toothed lower counter blade welded to the internal structure.
Shock protection system
The shock protection system protects the cutting head when it accidentally hits an obstacle.
Floating system
The slot in the cylinder’s mounting allows for oscillation, to follow every contour of the ground with each movement.

Forged joint
The parallelogram frame arm has a new forged joint to deliver greater strength and solidity.
